Mission Complex

The Mission Complex, an open-pit mine near to Tucson, Arizona.
We have helped the mine to install, maintain and optimise monitoring systems including total stations, GPS sensors and piezometers.
Mogalakwena
RSA
The Mogalakwena open-pit platinum mine is located near the town of Mokopane in the Republic of South Africa.
We have visited the mine many times to provide training on and optimisation of slope monitoring systems.
Lihir
Papua New Guinea
The Lihir gold mine is located on the island of Lihir, in Papua New Guinea.
The orebody is contained in a hydrothermally-altered porphyry gold system with the gold hosted in volcanics, intrusives and breccias within the caldera. Remnant geothermal activity is present at the site, evidenced by fumaroles visible in the above photograph.
Highland Valley Copper
Canada
Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is located approximately 17 kilometres west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometres southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia. Teck has a 100% interest in HVC.
HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrates through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation. Once processed, the metal concentrates are exported overseas, where the majority is sold under long-term sales contracts to smelters.

Fording River Operations is one of Teck's four steelmaking coal operations in the Elk Valley, British Columbia.
SASE
India
We developed an automated monitoring system that was used by SASE for snow and avalanche studies on the approach to the south portal of Rohtang Tunnel on Manali-Leh Highway in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
Bingham Canyon
USA
The Bingham Canyon mine, also known as Kennecott copper mine, is located near Salt Lake City in Utah, US. It is one of the world’s biggest man-made excavations and among the deepest open-pit copper mines.
The large classic copper porphyry orebody enjoys a fairly uniform distribution of sulphide mineralisation, mainly chalcopyrite.
Lisheen
Ireland
Lisheen was an underground lead-zinc-silver mine located in County Tipperary, Ireland. GeoBASys was used as part of the initial ore resource estimation for the deposit and continued to be used throughout the life of the mine. Other applications were developed for use at the mine to assist with block modelling and scheduling.
Rest And Be Thankful
Scotland
The A83 at Rest and Be Thankful (RabT) in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, has been subject to a number of landslide or debris flow events that have caused major disruption to the traffic that regularly uses this key trunk road.
We worked with Northumbria University on research projects at the site that included installing GPS monitors, piezometers and weather stations.

We assisted researchers from Durham University’s Geography Department to monitor coastal cliffs using an integrated monitoring system as part of a research project aimed at understanding the mechanisms involved in the erosion of cliffs and developing new ways to predict slope failures.

Yanacocha
Peru
Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine, located in the province and department of Cajamarca, approximately 800 kilometers northeast of Lima, Peru. Yanacocha’s operations are situated between 3,500 and 4,100 meters above sea level .
